New York Ramen

Today I visited Kogane Ramen in Brooklyn, NY. This is the first Kogane Ramen shop in addition to the Manhattan shop I posted previously posted. (http://www.jirosramen.com/search?q=kogane) Located in the Brooklyn Heights section, it is a small cozy shop.

I tried the Red Tonkotsu. Pretty spicy  レッドとんこつラーメンをいただきました。結構辛かった

South Street Fish & Ramen Co. - Hoboken, NJ🇺🇸 サウスストリート フィッシュ＆ラーメン - ホーボーケン、ニュージャージー

New Jersey Ramen

Today I visited South Street Fish & Ramen in Hoboken, NJ for a late lunch. They are located right on Washington Street which is the main street with lots of shops in Hoboken.
今日はホーボーケン、ニュージャージーのサウルストリート フィッシュ＆ラーメンに遅めの昼食に行ってきました。ホーボーケンの大通り、ワシントンストリートにあるお店です。

I tried their South Street Ramen. Personally, I do not recommend this one.  サウスストリート ラーメンを注文、これはお勧めしません。やめた方がいいです。

Nonono - Midtown East, NY 🇺🇸 ののの − ミッドタウンイースト、ニューヨーク

Today I visited Nonono in Midtown East, NYC! They are run by the owner that used to run MEW Men, which was one of my favorite ramen shops in NYC that closed in Nov 2017. Nonono is a yakitori restaurant which offers the same ramen as they did in MEW Men.

今日はニューヨークのミッドタウンイーストにあるのののに行ってきました。ここはニューヨークで大好きだったMEW Menというラーメン店(2017年11月閉店)と同じ系列で現在はオシャレな焼き鳥屋さん。Mew Menで提供していたラーメンもやっているので行ってきました。

They have happy hour beer from 5:30pm to 7:00pm.

Their yakitori is very good, and there's lots of other appetizers.  Good selection of sake and liquor as well. Ramen is not like it used to be at MEW Men, but it's fine after your drinks and yakitori!

５時半から７時までハッピーアワービールやってるのが嬉しい。まずはビールと焼き鳥。今日は食べなかったけど他にも色々つまみ系のアペタイザーがあります。日本酒や他にもドリンク色々ありお洒落な感じでした。ラーメンは以前のMew Menレベルじゃないけど飲んだ後のシメにはいいかな。

Menya Sandaime - Jersey City, NJ🇺🇸 麺屋三代目 - ジャージーシティー、ニュージャージー

Hello all! Today I decided to visit Menya Sandaime in Jersey City, NJ. It is their second location which opened in 2018, with the original shop located in Fort Lee, NJ.
こんにちは！今日はニュージャージーのジャージーシティーにある麺屋三代目に行ってきました。本店はフォートリー 、ニュージャージーにありここは2018年にオープンしたアメリカ２号店です。

I ordered their Tonkotsu Ramen.  Comes with pork belly chashu, half egg, spinach, scallions and bean sprout (hidden under the scallions)
とんこつラーメンを注文。 豚バラチャーシュー、半玉、ほうれん草 (何故か生の)、ネギともやし(ネギの下に隠れてる）が付いてくる。

As with their Fort Lee shop, their noodles are home made.

フォートリー 本店同様、麺は自家製。

If you are driving there, it's very difficult to find parking. There is a parking garage, Newport North Garage, right across the street which is $5.00 up to 2 hours.
車で行く場合は駐車場が目の前にあり２時間まで$5.00。

This is a cafeteria style shop where you order and pay at the counter and they call your number when ramen is ready. Pretty large space but I went right at opening, 11:30 am, so not sure how crowed it gets at busy time. They also do take out.
カフェテリアスタイルで先にカウンターで注文して支払い。ラーメンが出来たら番号呼ばれて取りに行く。結構席数はあるけど今日は開店した直後に行ったので混んでる時はどういう感じか分かりません。テイクアウトもやってるので近くに住んでる人には便利。まあ駐車場代払ってまで行かないかな。。

Samurai Papa BS - Brooklyn, NY 🇺🇸 サムライ パパ BS - ブルックリン、ニューヨーク

Today I went to Samurai Papa's 2nd location in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn for the first time. I have gone to the original location in Williamsburg previously so decided to try this one in Bed Stuy.
Small shop with around 12 counter seats, no tables and offering original and unique ramen choices.
今日はブルックリンのベッドフォード スタイベセントにあるサムライパパと言うラーメン屋さんの２号店に訪問。ブルックリンのウイリアムスバーグにある１号店は以前行ったことがあるので今回は２号店をトライ。カウンター１２席程の小さなお店で、オリジナルの変わったラーメンなどがメニューにあります。

Tonbara Ramen Shoyu - Bukkake $12.00 Refer to their explanation on the menu regarding the choice of Bukkake and Classic.  Very interesting, never tried this before, you get to pour in bonito dashi (in the black up on the picture) to your liking to adjust flavor. 

豚バララーメン 醤油 - ぶっかけ $12.00 ぶっかけとは濃いめのスープに自分でカツオだしを足して味を調整するという一品。写真の右に写ってる黒いコップがカツオだし。

You can choose thick or thin noodles. This is the thick, which is somewhat medium thickness.

太麺と細麺を選べます。これは太麺、中太かな。
