Just a reminder to all ramen fans! Pork bone broth is "TONKOTSU", NOT "TONKATSU". TonkAtsu is breaded deep fried port cutlet, not pork bone broth!!
Hint: If a server says Tonkatsu Ramen at a restaurant, don't expect authentic ramen. Ton = Pork🐷, kotsu = Bone🍖

Tenho Ramen - Murray Hill, NY 🇺🇸 、天炮ラーメン − マレーヒル、ニューヨーク

New York Ramen

New ramen shop, Tenho Ramen, just opened in the Murray Hill section of Manhattan in end of May 2019. They specialize in Kurume Style tonkotsu ramen, which I believe is a first in NY. Kurume tonkotsu is said to be the original thick tonkotsu popular in Fukuoka. So far this is just a Soft Opening so menu is not a full menu and they are only open from 5pm to 10pm. They said they should be fully opened in July.


This is their signature Kurume Tonkotsu, Tenho Ramen. Comes with 2 pork belly chasu, half ajitama, woodear mushroom, nori seaweed, and scallions. Bowl is small but decent amount of noodles. Very good rich tonkotsu soup.
Thin straight noodles, a tad thicker than the Hakata style.

I'm sure this shop will be packed once they are fully opened, definitely worth a try if in NYC.
