Just a reminder to all ramen fans! Pork bone broth is "TONKOTSU", NOT "TONKATSU". TonkAtsu is breaded deep fried port cutlet, not pork bone broth!!
Hint: If a server says Tonkatsu Ramen at a restaurant, don't expect authentic ramen. Ton = Pork🐷, kotsu = Bone🍖

Chuka Ichiban - Yokosuka, Kanagawa 🇯🇵 中華一番 - 神奈川県横須賀市

Today I went to a tiny local ramen shop close to where I am staying. I have always seen their sign on the road but never had a chance to go until today, and I'm glad I went. Seems like they have been around for over 40 years.
I ordered   which is a type of ramen that originated in a Chinese restaurant in Yokohama. It usually comes with bean sprouts, cabbage, pork, and other vegetables. Soup is Ankake, which is a thick starchy soup.
 Sanmamen comes with thin noodles
Ramen menu on the wall. 600 yen for my sanmamen. Tax included, no tip like in US. The way it should be.
There's also other rice bowl and appetizer menu
Retro interior, Showa style. Run buy just an elderly lady.
お店は完全に昭和. おばあちゃん一人でやってるようです。
Very nice lady, gave me some newspapers to read while waiting for ramen
 No restaurant name in front
Retro sign on a main road
